What happens at a Dayco tune-up

Like an oil change for your car, regular maintenance catches small, inexpensive problems before they become a breakdown. Here's what our technicians check at a maintenance visit.

Why maintenance pays off

Heating and cooling systems get more sophisticated every year. That brings better efficiency and comfort, and more parts that need to be kept in adjustment. A system that’s cleaned and tested regularly runs more efficiently, breaks down less and lasts longer.

Heating side

  • Clean and adjust the burner and ignition assemblies
  • Inspect the heat exchanger or heating elements
  • Inspect the B-vent flue for rust and damage
  • Test starting capability and safety controls

Cooling side

  • Check refrigerant pressures using subcooling and superheat
  • Clean the evaporator coil and condensate drain
  • Measure the temperature difference across the coil

Whole system

  • Clean and adjust blower components
  • Replace or check the air filter
  • Tighten connections and measure volts and amps
  • Lubricate moving parts that need it
  • Check the thermostat’s calibration

The system isn’t just looked at. It’s tested, so we know it runs properly, not just that it looks fine.

When to schedule

Heating checks happen in the fall and cooling checks in the spring. Because of the volume of summer service calls and installs, Dayco does not do routine maintenance in June or July.

Make it automatic

Our four maintenance plans schedule your visits, remind you when one is due, and add benefits like priority service, repair discounts and no overtime fees. Call (509) 586-9464 to sign up.
